As the final quarter of 2020 wrapped up, the navigation and maps app category on iOS in the United Kingdom saw various user engagement trends, according to data from Sensor Tower. Let's take a glance at the performance of the top five apps in this category.
Google Maps remained a leading choice for iOS users, with downloads peaking at 63K in mid-October and December. The app's weekly active users showed a slight decline from 9M at the end of September to 8M by the end of December.
Another Google product, Google Earth, maintained a steady number of downloads, hovering around 21K to 24K throughout the quarter. The app's active users saw a gradual decrease from 139K to 141K during the same period.
Waze Navigation & Live Traffic also experienced a fluctuating trend in downloads, starting at 21K and dipping to 12K by the year's end. The weekly active users for Waze presented a more positive outlook, increasing from 2.3M to 2M over the quarter.
